The summer school 2003 should provide an introductory crash course for students interested in the background and context of European integration. It will be based in Novi Sad.
Participants should come from different faculties of the University of Novi Sad as well as from other universities taking part in the above-mentioned network.
The school is open to students of all universities in Serbia. Applications from Serbia should be sent to ivanavuj@uns.ns.ac.yu
Accommodation is arranged with the use of University facilities in Novi Sad. The University provides student places in its dormitories (double rooms).
Accommodation for South East European students is free of charge; West European students will have to pay a nominal charge of € 50 - for the two weeks. All participants will have to fund their own meals. The University of Novi Sad can provide information on the prices of meals in the student restaurants. Transport to/from Novi Sad is the responsibility of the participants.
There will also be no fees for participation in the conference. The organisers, however, cannot assist participants with the cost of their travel.
Participants will be aided in their preparation by a specially prepared reader available in CD-Rom form some 4-6 weeks before the start of the conference and course material made available to them on CD-Rom at the befinning of the summer school.
Participants willing to write a paper on any of the subjects mentioned below or, by prior consultation with the organisers, on any other subject related to these, should get a proper graduate seminar certificate worth 8 ECTS points and issued either by the Department of Politics, University of Münster, or the Nottingham Trent University according to participants‘ choice. Participants not willing to write a paper may nevertheless get a non-credited seminar certificate as a token of their presence.
Admission to the summer school requires a reasonably good command of English. Intending participants should submit a letter of motivation (written in English) to their respective regional contingent organisers, stating the reasons for their intention to participate and their expectations regarding the summer school. This should be accompanied by a TOEFL or any other certificate proving their command of English. If these certificates cannot be produced, English language interviews in Novi Sad some time before the actual conference start will determine whether an applicant’s linguistic standards will enable her/him to take part in the summer school with academic profit.
Deadline for applications is June 30, 2003.
Applications will not be received after June 30 2003 !
From 2004 onwards, the summer school will be the entrance portal to and active component of the Master in European Studies course that will be held at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.
