History, Philosophy, and English Language and Literature at the universities
of Bonn and Reading (GB). M.A. in Political Science 1970, M.Phil. in Contemporary
European Studies 1973, Dr.phil. summa cum laude 1974. Assistant Lecturer
and Lecturer, Dept. of Politics, University of Bonn 1972 – 1984, Visiting
Professorships at the universities of Bochum and Marburg 1985 and 1986,
Habilitation in Political Science 1986, Professor of International Politics
at the University of Münster 1987. Elected Vice-Dean, Faculty of
Social Sciences, 1990, and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, 1991; served
alternatively as Dean and Vice-Dean 1990 – 1999. Various functions in
the Department of Politics, University of Münster: in charge of Tempus
Program since 1995; responsible for double diploma courses with BBU Cluj-Napoca,
IEP Lille and University of Twente since 1999; Director of International
Studies since 2000; Deputy Chairman of the Department since 2001.
Visiting Professor, Faculty of European Studies, Babes-Bolyai University,
Cluj-Napoca , since 1995. Doctor honoris causa, Babes-Bolyai University,
and Member of the Consiliul Profesoral of the Faculty of European Studies
